Ms. James specializes in federal and state pesticide registration and compliance with a particular emphasis on California rules, regulations, policies, and practices. She supports clients in product development, registration, and stewardship of pesticide products. Ms. James excels at navigating California's unique regulatory landscape as it pertains to pesticide and chemical regulation.
Prior to joining Ä¢¹½tv, Ms. James was the human health risk assessment and mitigation coordinator for the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR). In this role, Ms. James was responsible for serving as the Department's liaison with the regulated community, preparing notices and delivering oral presentations to affected stakeholders. She also helped to develop and implement risk mitigation measures for pesticidal active ingredients subject to the Department's human health risk assessment process. Ms. James led the coordination of the Pesticide Contamination and Prevention Act review process following ground water detections of chlorthal-dimethyl and imidacloprid. During her tenure at DPR, Ms. James was awarded three Director's Employee Recognition Awards for superior accomplishments in professional integrity, leadership, and vision.
Prior to joining DPR, Ms. James worked as a scientific aid for the Division of Drinking Water within California's State Water Resources Control Board. As a scientific aid, Ms. James reviewed laboratory data and ensured compliance for public water systems in Los Angeles County. Ms. James also assisted engineers during sanitary surveys and water treatment inspections. She also has experience reviewing permit applications for new ground water wells.
